Local MP Maria Miller welcomes new unemployment figures for July 2015, which show the number of people in Basingstoke who are unemployed is now lower than any time in over a decade.
The number of people claiming unemployment benefit is 280 lower than in July 2014 and 11 lower than in June 2015.
The number of young people who are unemployed has also fallen with 60 fewer young people in Basingstoke out of work in July 2015 compared with July 2014.
Maria said: “It is good to see the recovery is creating more opportunities for people in Basingstoke with unemployment continuing to fall and even more young people being able to find work. This is great news for everyone in our constituency.”
