Back Basingstoke's new Hospital - urges Maria Miller

Maria Miller local Parliamentary Candidate for Basingstoke is urging all local candidates in the coming General Election to back the new Basingstoke hospital plans on the 10 April.  Hospital chief Mary Edwards has announced that Basingstoke Hospital will apply for permission on 10 April to build the proposed new critical treatment hospital to the west of the town.  Maria said " The plans that will be submitted for approval on 10 April show how our local doctors and nurses want to care for Basingstoke and North Hampshire residents in the future and they deserve our full backing. The new critical care hospital separates out treatment for the sickest patients and will help make sure people get the treatment they need when they need it. The plans would also ensure 24 hour a day 7 day a week consultant care too. " Pressure over the winter months has demonstrated that we need a new approach to Hospital care locally. Our doctors and nurses are proposing a solution and they need all of our support. " I have met with Mary Edwards, Chief Executive of the Hospital to discuss specific details of the plans and there are clearly some issues that where raised in the consultation that have been given detailed consideration including public transport, staffing and costs.  " The new hospital will also include a vital new cancer care centre to ensure state of the art clinical care is available to every resident. This centre has already secured important financial support including from Basingstoke Borough Council.  " What we need now is for the whole town to Back Basingstoke's new Hospital. Over the years my family has relied on Basingstoke Hospital and I know it is a fantastic NHS service. The new proposals will help make sure our local NHS can go providing a top quality service that we all rely on."
