Maria Miller MP called in recently at Castle Hill Infant School in Winklebury.
Maria was given a tour of the school by Headteacher Alison Story-Scrivens and the Chair of Governors Michele Amos, who updated Maria on latest developments at the school and current challenges.
Maria also met a group of children from different year groups, and talked with them about what would make Basingstoke an even better place to live.
Maria said: “I was very pleased to talk to the Headteacher and the chair of the Governing Body and it was clear that they and all the team are very committed to making sure the children get the best possible start to their school education. We had a good session with the children who had some imaginative ideas about how to improve their community.”
