Basingstoke’s MP, Maria Miller raised the important work done by local charity Speakeasy Advocacy during Parliamentary Questions on Learning Disabilities Mortality Review in the House of Commons on Tuesday 8 May.
The Women and Equalities Committee follows up progress made by the main political parties since its report on Women in the House in January 2017, and the Government’s response, published in September 2017.
At a Pancreatic Cancer UK drop-in event at Westminster, Maria Miller MP heard that 93 per cent of people diagnosed will not survive five years or more, and that there has been very little improvement in survival since the early 1970s.
The Women and Equalities Committee has published the responses from the Government and the Office for National Statistics to the previous Committee’s report on Implementation of Sustainable Development Goal 5 in the UK (March 2017).
