The Government has identified some people who are ‘extremely vulnerable’ to getting seriously ill from Coronavirus because of an underlying health condition. Those in this group will have been contacted by the NHS to request that they not leave home for at least 12 weeks, and have been advised that if they do not have friends, family or neighbours who can provide support, they can register for help to access food, medicine and social contact via https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable.
If you, a family member, friend or neighbour has one of the health conditions identified by Government and listed below but have not yet been contacted by the NHS you can register online or call the new Coronavirus Hampshire Helpline on 0333 370 4000. The helpline is available 7 days a week from 9am to 5pm. In the case of a medical emergency you must continue to call 999.
Maria said, “ Its crucial that the most vulnerable people in our community get the support that is available through this healthcare emergency. This support is for the most extremely vulnerable group who have to completely isolate themselves from the virus for a 12 week period and who need help getting food and medicine. If you know someone in this category please make sure they have registered and if you are in doubt please call the new Coronavirus Hampshire Helpline.”
