The Environment Agency has confirmed that groundwater levels in Basingstoke, and Buckskin in particular, are normal for the time of year. There are currently no groundwater flood alerts in force in the West Thames area.
Maria said: ‘The recent floods in northern England will bring back dreadful memories for Buckskin residents. It is important that the Environment Agency has confirmed there are currently no alerts in the Basingstoke and Buckskin area. Residents can see Thames Water's monthly reports online.’
The Environment Agency use a monitoring borehole called Tile Barn Farm to judge the groundwater levels for the area.
