The Small Charities Challenge Fund (SCCF) is a funding opportunity for small UK-registered charities and not-for-profit organisations. SCCF project grants of up to £50,000 are available for projects of up to two years.
Grants are available for UK-registered organisations working towards addressing the Global Goals to improve the lives of the most vulnerable and marginalised. This is a rolling funding opportunity whereby applications are reviewed on a six-monthly basis and can be submitted at any stage.
The fund previously ran as a pilot, committing £3.5 million to 74 small charities delivering a diverse range of projects. These projects include waste management and plastics recycling in rural Kenya, supporting women with disabilities to establish sustainable social enterprises in Tanzania, and transforming the lives of carers in Bangladesh. Charities supported through the fund are based across the UK and many are volunteer-run.
Maria said, “The Small Charities Challenge Fund is an excellent initiative and I would encourage small charities in Basingstoke working in the field of international development to apply for a grant.”
The application process is a one-staged process. All applications must be submitted online via the online portal. The closing date for the next review of project grant proposals is Thursday 28 November 2019 at 17:00pm (GMT). Details of how to apply, including the application form and review dates, can be found online at www.ukaiddirect.org/apply/sccf/.
