Maria Miller MP for Basingstoke has called on Southern Health to confirm when the report into its operations will be made public after a leaked copy of the report was given to the national media. It is alleged that the NHS has failed to investigate the unexpected deaths of more than 1,000 people since 2011.
Maria said, "Southern Health are responsible for the care of some of the most vulnerable people in our community. It's is important that the facts of the investigation are made public as soon as possible. The allegations that have been made are extremely serious. Yesterday I wrote to the Chief Executive asking for confirmation as to when the final report will be published, whether any changes have been made to the report since it was leaked and what changes have been made within the organisation in response to these serious allegations."
