Local MP encourages Basingstoke’s Businesses to register for Eat Out to Help Out scheme

Restaurants, bars, cafes and other establishments in Basingstoke constituency, which serve food for on-premises consumption can now sign up to the Eat Out to Help Out scheme - aimed at protecting jobs in the hospitality industry and encouraging people to safely return to dining out.

Customers do not need a voucher as participating establishments will just remove the discount from their bill. Businesses reclaim the discounted amount through an online service, supported by HMRC. Claims can be made on a weekly basis and will be paid into bank accounts within five working days.

Maria said “This is a great scheme and will help boost Basingstoke business following the challenges of the Coronavirus lockdown. I urge all eligible Basingstoke businesses to register and all Basingstoke constituents to Eat Out to Help Out."

The Scheme is now live and eligible businesses can register online at GOV.UK
