Local MP Maria Miller is encouraging children across Basingstoke to take a part in Royal Crown Derby’s competition to ‘make a mug, make a difference’ campaign in support of NHS charities together Covid-19 urgent appeal.
A competition is now open for young people to design a mug that celebrates the NHS. The winning mugs will then be produced by Royal Crown Derby and we aim to make and sell 26,299 mugs, representing and celebrating every day that the NHS has been making our lives better since its formation on 5 July 1948 to its 72nd anniversary in 2020.
Maria said, “I encourage all children across Basingstoke to join in this engaging challenge and showcase their creativity by making a mug that could make a difference.”
The winning mugs will be produced by Royal Crown Derby and all profits will be donated to the NHS Charities Together COVID-19 Urgent Appeal. The two prize winners will also take a tour of the Palace of Westminster and also visit the V&A Museum where their mugs will be exhibited.
