Basingstoke MP Maria Miller has welcomed the opening of new skate park at War Memorial Park, which will be officially opened at an event on Saturday 30 October from 12 noon until 4pm.
The skate park, which was completed in March this year, was part of a wider £495,000 improvement scheme at the town centre park. Due to due to COVID-19 restrictions at the time of completion, the park was not able to be officially opened until now.
The Halloween-themed event on the 30th September will be hosted by CANVAS, who designed and installed the skate park. The event will include free activities, prizes and music.
MP Maria Miller said: “I’m thrilled that we are able to able to now officially open the skate park at this fantastic event on the 30th September. It’s a real asset to have this new exercise and leisure facility in the borough, and investing in facilities like these is testament to Basingstoke’s ambition to enhance our parks and green spaces for all to enjoy.”
