Hampshire County Council have recently announced over £130,000 of funding for community and voluntary organisations across Hampshire. These organisations are doing fantastic work to reduce isolation and improve people’s mental and physical health.
Maria commented “The work of volunteers and voluntary organisations is essential to our community and this additional funding of close to £50,000, allocated by the County Council here in Basingstoke will make a real difference. This funding will allow these organisations to embark on new projects and improve their work, ultimately leading to a greater level of support for those local residents who need it most.”
The SpeakEasy and Neighbourcare campaigns are two charities within Basingstoke which have been allocated funding. These organisations do fantastic work within the borough, improving the community and providing essential support to those who need it.
Maria also emphasised “Both organisations are constantly on the lookout for volunteers to help them in the work they do. I encourage all Basingstoke residents, if they have time to spare, to get involved.”
