Local MP Maria Miller is delighted to nominate Basingstoke based De La Rue for the National Responsible Business Champion Awards.
The All-Party Parliamentary Corporate Responsibility Group (APCRG) presents an annual award for responsible business practice to recognise companies which go beyond mere compliance with legal and contractual obligations to support their local communities. The award is distinctive because companies can only be nominated by their MP, for the impact on their constituency, and the award is judged by Parliamentarians.
Maria commented, “I am delighted to nominate De La Rue for the National Responsible Business Awards 2018.Their activities over the last 5 years have raised over £30,000 for five deserving local charities. Additionally De La Rue’s Local Educational activities include employability skills training; offering year 9 pupils advice on interviewing skills, on the use of social media and perceptions of good and bad behaviour. De La Rue also engage with Step into Industry – a shadowing programme where local school children can spend time with the company and experience office culture. I wish them every success in the competition.”
Jo Easton, Group Director of Human Resources at De La Rue commented, “De La Rue has been actively engaged with the local community over many years, working with charities, championing education and environmental issues and supporting local events. The nomination for the APCRG Responsible Business Champions award recognises the significant contribution our employees make to local community interests and we are both proud and delighted to have been selected.”
