Maria Miller MP urges Basingstoke Rail Users to have their say on proposed timetable changes – deadline 23 December
Basingstoke MP Maria Miller is highlighting South Western Railway’s consultation on proposed changes to late night and early morning rail services which would come into effect in December 2020. The consultation closes next week, on 23 December.
The proposals are to withdraw some late night and early morning services on Sunday to Thursday, to allow for a little longer “down time” to carry out overnight maintenance and repairs. They are also proposing to add some extra late night services on Friday and Saturday.
Maria said: “ I would urge everyone in Basingstoke who uses early morning or late night rail services to look at the consultation and make their views known. Having extra time to carry out essential maintenance must be a good idea, but this needs to be balanced with meeting the needs of rail passengers.”
