Basingstoke MP Maria Miller recently visited Brighton Hill School as part of her regular programme of visits to Basingstoke schools.
Maria met the new Head Teacher Chris Edwards, who updated her on latest developments at the school, and future plans. She also had a meeting with a group of students, who asked her questions on a wide range of issues, including about her work as MP for Basingstoke and the UK’s exit from the EU.
Maria said: “I was very pleased to meet Chris Edwards, the new Head Teacher and hear about his plans for the school. It was great to hear that Brighton Hill is the highest achieving Duke of Edinburgh centre in Hampshire – the DoE award scheme is such a wonderful way for young people to grow their skills and confidence.”
“I very much enjoyed my meeting with a group of students, who had lots of interesting questions, and were keen to discuss a wide range of issues.”
