Basingstoke MP Maria Miller has welcomed the latest Big Lottery Fund grants for Basingstoke projects.
Manor Field Infant School in Brighton Hill has received an Awards for All grant of £9,950. The funding will be used to refurbish the school library and buy electronic readers to help to provide a before school breakfast club and after school reading club for pupils. This will enable children to have extra-curricular activities coupled with a free meal before school.
Home-Start Hampshire, which is a charity based in Basingstoke which delivers support services across the whole of Hampshire, has received a £10,000 Awards for All grant. This funding will be used to deliver an early years and early intervention awareness event, taking place on 13 March, and to upgrade their website to improve their delivery of support services to parents and carers.
Maria said: “It is great news that these projects have benefitted from Lottery funding during the last few months. The National Lottery does a huge amount to support all types of local organisations and I would encourage more of them, both large and small, to apply for grants to help fund their projects.”
