Maria Miller visited The Hampshire FA complex in Winklebury to discuss current projects and future plans with Neil Cassar, CEO of Hampshire FA. Maria commented “This is a fantastic facility for the whole borough and it is always important to look at ways of increasing access to football at all levels. When I last visited with the Minister Helen Grant, we discussed artificial pitches as a way of increasing the number of people who can benefit from this great facility. I am keen to see how we can do this on the Winklebury site as at the moment only three matches can be played per week. A 3G pitch would dramatically increase usage and make football more accessible to the community."
