Local MP Maria Miller has welcomed the sewer rehabilitation work that Thames Water is going to be carrying out in the Buckskin area over the coming weeks. This work will start on 23 February, and will involve sewer relining, repairing and defects and dealing with root ingress, together with a few localised patch sealing repairs.
Thames Water will also shortly be replacing 69 manhole covers with leak tight covers, to help prevent ground water entering the sewers.
Maria said: “This type of repair and maintenance work is vital in helping to prevent the terrible sewage contamination problems that Buckskin residents experienced during the flooding last year. It is good to see Thames Water taking this approach to improve the sewage infrastructure in this area.”
