Basingstoke MP, Maria Miller met with Shibaji Shrestha, the new Chair of the Basingstoke Multicultural Forum (BMF).
Mr Shrestha, a former police officer during the Nepal civil troubles, is a local businessman who has been on the board of the BMF for three years. Maria met with Shibaji, former Chair AK, Secretary Nitin and Treasurer Harminder. They discussed a variety of local issues and Maria’s inquiry into the lived experiences of the Black Asian Minority Ethnic Community in Basingstoke.
Maria commented; “I was delighted to meet with the BMF and welcome Shibaji to his new role as chair. As a governor of Cranbourne School and someone who is very involved in local community charities he can provide valuable insight as Chair. I am really looking forward to working with Shibaji and the BMF.”
