Basingstoke MP Maria Miller recently received an update from Dave Axam, Chair of the Enterprise M3 Local Enterprise Partnership and Kathy Slack , Chief Executive. The meeting took place at the LEP’s new headquarters at Belvedere House on Basing View, following their move here from Winchester in September 2019.
Maria heard about the LEP’s recent activities to drive economic growth and productivity in the region, and the Strategic Economic Plan and emerging Local Industrial Strategy, setting out their vision for future growth. She also heard about the work they have done to increase the female representation on their Board, and their campaign to increase diversity within the wider business community. Maria was also pleased to meet some of the LEP’s staff and hear first-hand about their areas of work.
Maria said: “It was good to get an update on the M3 Enterprise LEP’s activities and hear about their plans for future progress. Our LEP has a great track record on partnerships, working with businesses, local authorities and others across the region, to ensure that investment is targeted and the right decisions are made.”
“More than £50 million has been invested in Basingstoke’s roads for key improvements, and a great deal of this has been secured by the LEP from the Local Growth Fund. I am particularly grateful to the LEP for their continuing emphasis on economic growth in Basingstoke and the infrastructure to facilitate it.”
