Maria Miller MP visited Fort Hill Community School and met with Head Teacher Mrs Betty Elkins and the Rotary Interact club. Pupils work alongside Basingstoke and Deane’s Rotary Club and engage in fundraising activities for local charities.
The Students interviewed Maria about a wide range of issues and explained about the various projects they had been involved in. They told her about Shelterbox-a charity helping the crisis in Nepal and their involvement.
Maria Commented “It was wonderful to see how The Rotary Club are working closely with this group of young people. It was striking to see how much the pupils had gained from the partnership and benefited from this strong charitable link in the community. ”
