Local MP Maria Miller has welcomed the start of construction at Park Prewett Hall in the heart of Rooksdown. Maria met up with Cllr Simon Bound to see the building works underway, which will transform the derelict Hall into a mix of community and residential use, with a large hall, meeting space and conservatory at one end, and residential apartments at the other.
Maria said: “We have been waiting around two years for the start of this work on the Hall, and I am delighted to see that the work has now started after such a long time.
“When the works are completed, it will be great to have this derelict building brought back to life, and it will double the amount of community space available to Rooksdown residents.”
