MARIA PRESENTS FUJITSU WITH RESPONSIBLE BUSINESS CERTIFICATE

Maria Miller was welcomed at Fujitsu’s Basingstoke base on Friday 24 April by Tim Gibson, Vice President Defence and National Security. Maria was visiting to present Fujitsu with a certificate as Basingstoke Responsible Business Champion 2015, and took place during Responsible Business Week. 

Girlguiding UK - Girls Matter Campaign

Maria Miller joined three divisions of the Basingstoke Girl Guides to discuss key issues affecting women. Maria, a Girlguiding Ambassador, took part in a vibrant Q and A session which focussed on the Girlguiding UK - Girls Matter campaign. The session covered a wide range of issues including revenge pornography, equal pay, exposure to harmful sexualised content and sexual harassment.

MARIA SIGNS MND CHARTER

The Motor Neurone Disease Charter recognised the rights and priorities of people living with MND and their carers. It is designed to raise awareness and understanding of this devastating disease.

TOUGHER MEASURES NEEDED TO PROTECT RIVER LODDON

Maria has long campaigned for tougher measures to reduce the phosphate pollution levels in the River Loddon and called in at the Hampshire and Isle of Wight Wildlife Trust to catch up with them on their role as catchment host for the River Loddon.

Basingstoke Inclusion Zone(BIZ) is visible in Basingstoke

Maria Miller met Paul Beesley the Manager of Sainsbury's Town centre store in Basingstoke. Sainsbury's have been a firm supporter of the Basingstoke Inclusion Zone. The BIZ sticker is now displayed in the store’s window as a sign of Sainsbury’s support for the scheme.
