Dr Tim Cooper of the Chineham Medical Practice has been nominated by Ward Councillor Jenny Vaux to receive a NHS 2022 Parliamentary award.
Dr Cooper has been responsible for managing Basingstoke’s Covid-19 vaccine centre at Jameson House, which has set the standard for Hampshire’s rollout of the vaccine. In light of his incredible work throughout the pandemic, Cllr Vaux has put Dr Cooper forward for the NHS Parliamentary Awards 2022.
Maria said: “The NHS Parliamentary Awards was launched in 2018 to mark the NHS’ 70 birthday and recognise the outstanding contribution of staff, volunteers and others working in the health and care sector. Dr Cooper, has done such a fantastic job in managing Basingstoke’s Covid-19 vaccine programme through Jameson House. The UK’s rollout of the vaccine has been absolutely critical in our battle with coronavirus and our ability to emerge from the pandemic. I am grateful to Cllr Vaux for making this recommendation, Dr Cooper will be put forward for the awards.
“The awards are open for anyone to nominate an NHS worker in Basingstoke who has gone above and beyond in the past year. In Basingstoke we have such a fantastic team of people working in our NHS, whether that be at the hospital, in GP surgeries, mental health providers and so on. I need the help of Basingstoke residents in identifying people who they think should be put forward for an award nomination. There are only 2 weeks to go until the April 6 deadline, and I would urge anyone with suggestions to contact me as soon as they can.”
