Local MP Maria Miller has congratulated pupils receiving their GCSE, BTEC and A Level results.
Maria said, “This has been a difficult year for everyone but especially for young people who did not have the opportunity to demonstrate their progress in the usual written examinations. I’d like to warmly congratulations students and teachers on this set of results, and praise them for showing such resilience this year. I wish this year’s cohort the every success for the next stage of their education or training and onto the future they deserve.”
Following the Department for Education’s consultation, this year’s students have been awarded grades determined by their teachers and based on a range of evidence. Teachers have been able to draw on a range of evidence when determining grades, including the use of questions provided by exam boards, mock exams, coursework, or other work completed such as essays and in-class tests covering topics which pupils have been taught.
