Local MP, Maria Miller, recently joined volunteers at Basingstoke Neighbourcare’s Community Café in Brighton Hill, to take part in one of their monthly ‘Natter and Chatter’ session with customers.
Maria said: “It was great to help out at the café with Neighbourcare’s dedicated volunteers and to speak about the important charitable work that they do.
“I want to thank the team for all their hard work and the services they provide to elderly and disabled residents, which give valuable assistance and social connections to some of the most vulnerable members of our Basingstoke community.”
A registered charity since 1997, Basingstoke Neighbourcare currently help over 500 people in the local community and are supported by a hard-working, friendly, well organised and dedicated team of trustees, office staff, fund raisers and volunteers.
Basingstoke Neighbourcare helps with simple tasks for people who are in need, as well as providing transport and befriending support for elderly and disabled clients.
