On the 75th anniversary of the NHS’s founding, I would like to pay tribute to everyone who worked in our National Health Service. At its founding in 1948, it was the world’s first universal free health system; and is now part of our national DNA.
I would like to pay particular thanks to all our healthcare professionals in Basingstoke who work hard to keep our community healthy.
Since the NHS was first formed our nation’s demographics, our life expectancy and the complexity of medical procedures have changed enormously. As a result the NHS has continued to evolve too, providing everyone in Britain with first-rate healthcare, free at the point of use.
