Local MP Maria Miller is encouraging residents to support local businesses in the lead up to Christmas.
Maria Miller said, ‘With the end of lockdown and with only 11 shopping days until Christmas, now is a brilliant opportunity to visit our local high street and shops while following Coronavirus guidelines. Restrictions this year have greatly impacted retailers and so it is vital to shop locally where possible to support Hampshire’s economy and support fantastic local businesses.’
Many shops, cafes and restaurants have reopened following the end of national restrictions and residents are being urged to support them while following COVID-19 guidelines.
Hampshire is currently in Tier 2 (High). Guidance about the tier restrictions can be found online.
For retailers, guidance on social distancing can be found on Hampshire County Council’s website, which includes signage and street markings to help manage queues.
