Basingstoke’s MP, Maria Miller has welcomed Round 2 of the RBS Skills and Opportunities Fund, which is available to charities, social enterprises, community groups, state-funded schools and colleges.
RBS launched the fund in May last year as part of their on-going commitment to make a difference in the communities in which they serve. So far, £1.25 million has been awarded to people in the UK and Ireland.
Focus for this funding is to support organisations that help people in disadvantaged communities develop, create or access the skills and opportunities they need to help themselves; skills that will enable them to get into work or start a business, now or in the future.
Maria said, “This is a great opportunity for our local community to secure the financial support that they need and I would like to encourage all local groups to consider putting forward an application."
If you know an organisation that could benefit please ask them to apply. To find out more, including the application criteria, please visit http://skillsandssopportunitiesfund.rbs.com/
The deadline for applications for Round 2 2016 is midday on Friday 9 September.
