Basingstoke MP, Maria Miller, has congratulated students receiving their A and T Level results.
Maria said: “I'd like to congratulate students and thank all college staff for the work they have done to help students achieve their best.
“Whilst for many people the impact of covid has now receded into the background, we must not forget that students have had an incredibly disrupted two years, at a critical time for their education. They deserve great praise for their resilience and adaptability in the face of really tough circumstances. I also want to pay tribute to Basingstoke's teachers and education staff, who have gone the extra mile to ensure their students receive all possible support to maintain a high standard of learning throughout the past two years.
“I wish this year’s cohort every success in the next stage of their development, whether that be higher education, training or in employment."
Any young person who needs help or advice about their next options, having received their results, can speak to their school, college or sixth form's Careers Advisor or contact Hampshire Futures – the County Council’s careers advice service for young people.
A dedicated post exam support service will be available to call on 0370 779 6122 between 9am and 4pm on Thursday 18 and Friday 19 August, or at any other time via email: careers.service@hants.gov.uk
There is also an extensive range of careers information available online via the County Council’s ‘Your Future’ website. Information on apprenticeships available in each area can be found online.
Students who may be feeling uncertain, anxious or stressed about the future as they move on to university, employment or other training can also seek support from Young Minds who will encourage them to look after their mental health and identify when to ask for help.
Additional mental health and wellbeing resources for young people, including local support services and free message services, can be found on the Mental Wellbeing Hampshire website.
