Basingstoke MP, Maria Miller, dropped into the local Salvation Army branch at their community brunch to share information on Borough Council support schemes with the cost of living.
Maria said: “Our community has always worked hard to support those most in need, and it is doing so now. That’s what compassionate communities do. That is why our Borough Council are providing significant support to the people of Basingstoke to help alleviate cost-of-living pressures.
“Its important that this information reaches those who need it, and I’m grateful to Captain Jonathan Pitts and his team, for helping me to share this message. It’s great to see people coming together and charitable organisations such as the Salvation Army have a part to play in helping to create those community bonds.”
