Local MP, Maria Miller, met with Basingstoke’s new Police District Commander, Chief Inspector Scott Johnson.
Maria said: “I am delighted to meet up with our new District Commander, CI Scott Johnson and hear his priorities and plans for policing in Basingstoke. Scott knows Basingstoke well having been on the Hampshire Constabulary team here 10 years ago. I want to welcome Scott back to Basingstoke and I look forward to working collaboratively with him going forward.
CI Johnson has 25 years’ experience having joined Hampshire Constabulary in 1997. He has worked a broad range of roles and locations across local policing, including in the control room as a Force Incident Manager and as a Tactical Firearms Commander. Scott is a long-standing member of the force Negotiator Team and co-chairs the force LGBT+ staff network.
Scott’s priority is to work with partners to reduce harm in Basingstoke, in particular in relation to young people, and a strong focus on tackling perpetrators of domestic abuse.
