Basingstoke MP Maria Miller recently visited Marnel Infant School as part of her programme of visits to schools in the constituency.
Maria met the Head Teacher Miss Susan Cox and a number of the School Governors, before being asked to open the new School Library by unveiling a display showing some of the pupils’ favourite books.
Maria was also given a tour of the school by the Head Teacher, and heard about all the latest developments and future plans at the school.
Maria said: “I was delighted to visit Marnel Infant School, and particularly pleased to be invited to help with the opening of the new Library. The children showed a real excitement about reading, which is so important for their future academic success.”
“I was hugely impressed by the high educational standards set for all children, and by the inspirational leadership shown by the Head Teacher.”
