Local MP, Maria Miller, visited Basingstoke College of Technology (BCoT) to speak with the Principal and students on the City and Guilds Diploma in Machining course.
Maria said: “Its always great to visit BCoT and hear about the diverse range of courses they are providing. We are so fortunate to have one of the largest providers of apprenticeships in the region, located here in Basingstoke. Offering more than 60 different apprenticeship programmes, to start an exciting career in a wide range of industries, BCoT works with both large and small employers across all industry sectors.
I know that apprenticeships remain a key priority for Government, with funding in England at around £2.5 billion in 2020-21. And it is thanks to the excellent teaching and training provided at institutions like BCoT that young people are provided with the necessary skills for all manner of stimulating career paths.”
