Local MP, Maria Miller, visited the headquarters of Basingstoke business, RingGo, the industry leading parking provider, where she met with Chief Executive, Peter O’Driscoll.
Maria said: “Ring-Go are a great Basingstoke success story, who have grown from strength to strength since being founded in 2005, to become the UK’s leading cashless parking provider.
“I want to thank Peter for meeting with me and speaking about the ongoing pilot of the National Parking Platform. This significant reform to the model of parking provision across the UK aims to boost competition between providers and enhance choice for customers. I was also glad to speak with Peter about RingGo’s future plans and commitment to Basingstoke going forward.”
Established in 2005, RingGo is based in Basingstoke and now employs 150 people, operates in 460 towns, over 10,000 locations and with over 140 local authorities.
RingGo is the UK’s leading cashless parking provider with over 19 million active users in the UK.
The National Parking Platform (NPP) is a DfT funded project currently being piloted by a group of Local Authorities. If rolled out nationally, the NPP would be a centralised and cost-efficient system supplying data to all Local Authorities. This not for-for-profit model should help create a more competitive and innovative parking market, to the benefit of customers.
