Basingstoke MP Maria Miller is highlighting an event in Basingstoke being run by Hampshire Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) to give parents, carers and professionals advice and support on mental health issues.
The Parent and Carer Event (PACE) is designed to help families better understand the needs and difficulties that young people can face and how to manage potential issues/concerns they have about their young person. The conference-type day is being held on Thursday 6 June at Brambly’s Grange in Basingstoke, with a wide range of workshops including self-harm, anxiety, ADHD, eating disorders and challenging behaviour. Support charities will also be attending.
Maria said: “The CAMHS team provides a really important service and also offers a valuable resource for families and professionals working with children. I am pleased to hear that they are running one of their free Parent and Carer events in Basingstoke. These are really informative sessions, and I would encourage anyone interested to look at what is on offer and book their place.”
