Maria Miller, local MP for Basingstoke has welcomed investment of more than £300,000 from Premier League and the FA Facilities Fund for local schools.
Vyne Community School has been awarded a grant of £316,594 to construct a new 106 x 70m floodlit 3G AGP pitch and additional car parking and Hatch Warren Phoenix YFC has been awarded a grant of £270 to replace their unsafe goal posts
Maria said “I welcome this funding to improve and build new football facilities for local young residents. Availability of good sporting facilities can encourage participation, which in turn helps children and adults to develop their physical and mental well-being. I encourage other eligible local organisation to apply for funding.”
The Premier League & The FA Facilities Fund is available to football clubs, schools, councils and local sports associations. It is focused on supporting the development of new or refurbished local football facilities, improving the experience of playing the national game at the lowest levels, and helping to increase participation in football across the country.
