Basingstoke MP Maria Miller has welcomed the announcement of £2.4 million of extra funding from Government for a Same Day Access healthcare facility in Basingstoke.
The Same Day Access Service will be a facility in Basingstoke serving around 80,000 people across five GP practices, through which all on-the-day urgent primary care will be routed. It is a key facility for delivering the new approaches to health and care provision set out in the North Hampshire Health and Care Transformation Plan 2018 – 2013.
Maria said: “I am very pleased that the Health Secretary has announced £2.4 million of new investment in NHS facilities in Basingstoke. I understand that the new same day access centre is expected to be in place by March 2019, and it will mean that people can be assured of same day access for urgent care, freeing up capacity at GP surgeries and the Hospital’s Emergency Department.”
“People want to be able to access the right services, at the right time, and this same day access centre is an important part of achieving that.”
