Fares hiked up for rail travellers and more over-crowding down the line
As people across Basingstoke return to work after the New Year Maria Miller local MP this week raised her concern about levels of over-crowding on the trains and rising rail fares.
Today Maria Miller MP for Basingstoke pressed the Government for more support on the M4 Junction 11 scheme to improve traffic flows on the motorway and also the A33, a key gateway into Reading for Basingstoke.
Maria Miller MP today called on constituents to protect themselves and their families by making a New Year’s Resolution to play it safe with gas in 2006.
Maria has called for action from local health chiefs to ensure pregnant women in Basingstoke have the same access to ante-natal scans as women in neighbouring Berkshire and Surrey.
Maria took the Trade Justice debate to Ghana as part of a cross party Parliamentary Trade Delegation. Maria was in Ghana to meet farmers whose livelihoods have been devastated by cheap US and European subsidised food imports.
Today Maria Miller, MP for Basingstoke questioned the Prime Minister on the Local Inspectors decision to throw out plans for around 3000 houses in Basingstoke and the surrounding villages because local communities couldn’t cope with the scale of the building plans.
